Triangles in Motion

This traditional nine-patch block combines solid squares with squares made up of small triangles. The contrasts in color and shape in the Winged Square create a marvelous sense of movement.

With careful placement of color and direction, a feeling of motion is created. The light-colored solid squares are juxtaposed with the light and dark triangles. The points of the dark triangles face the solid squares, while the long flat sides of the lighter triangles face the solid squares, giving the impression of birds flying in opposite directions.
